This week, we are supporting Mental Health Awareness Week, which is not just an important week in Unitrust's calendar but also a key focus for our business all year round.
As well as flooding our social media with messages of support and signposting people to organisations that help promote and protect mental wellbeing, we’re taking time internally to reflect on how we support each other.
From mental health first aiders and regular check-ins, to open conversations and awareness training, we’re committed to building a workplace where everyone feels seen, heard, and supported this week and every week.
Kirsty Lay, our Head of People and Culture explains

"At Unitrust, we recognise our team is our greatest asset, and their well-being is at the heart of everything we do. Mental health is just as important as physical health, and it’s something we continuously focus on creating space for within our company culture.
"We’ve made it a priority to ensure that our employees feel supported, whether it’s through regular check-ins, providing access to professional support, or fostering a work environment where conversations about mental health are welcomed.
"Mental health affects every one of us, and I’m proud of the open conversations we have at Unitrust We encourage our team to speak up and lean on each other for support. Mental health awareness isn’t limited to a week or a month—it’s something we nurture all year round.
"Our initiatives include offering mental health first aid training, setting aside time for well-being activities, and working closely with organisations that specialise in supporting mental health.
"We believe that by making these practices part of our everyday work life, we can foster a culture where everyone feels valued and understood."
To all our employees: You matter, and your well-being comes first.
