ENVIRONMENT

We know our environment is under threat and that changes must be made to protect it.  As a business we are fully committed to working and growing in a sustainable manner.

We have committed to reducing our carbon footprint and becoming a Net Zero business by 2030.  We are doing this by working with experts who are helping us set science-based targets and implement robust measurement techniques and by making changes internally that supports our wish to be environmentally responsible.
We recognise we cannot do this alone.  We need our people, our supply chain, and our clients to be onboard with our journey to sustainability if we are to make an impact.

WHY THE ENVIRONMENT MATTERS TO US...

“We can only grow sustainably if we work sustainably.  Unitrust is heading in the right direction however, we recognise we still have a long way to go on our journey to become a Net Zero business.  I believe by being open and honest about what we don’t know, working with experts who can help us set realistic and measurable targets will not only help us minimise our impact but really focus our minds on becoming more environmentally aware.  Together, we have a collective responsibility to the planet not just for today but for the future generations to come.”

SOCIAL

SOCIAL

We have always believed in giving back to the communities where our teams live and work.  Unitrust has a long history of fundraising and volunteering to help charities and organisations that are close to our hearts.

Every year we support national awareness days by fundraising and hosting mini events such as Macmillan Coffee Mornings supporting people living with cancer and getting involved in “Wear it Pink” for Breast Cancer Now.

Our team are fully engaged in both our fundraising and volunteering work which includes beach cleans and litter picks, taking part in the Big Sleep Out for homelessness, buying gifts for the KidsOut Giving Tree, donating food to the Trussell Trust, being sponsored for charity bike rides and many more.

GOVERNANCE

GOVERNANCE

We are working with independent environmental consultants  to help us identify ways we can make our business more environmentally friendly and sustainable.  In gaining an accreditation we commit to reducing our carbon footprint as well as operating in a sustainable fashion.  By setting measurable targets and reviewing them regularly we hope to significantly minimise the environmental impact of our business operations.

We are building a culture of people who are onboard with our environmental objectives and are encouraging them to bring new ideas to the table so that can all learn and evolve together.  Our online CPD Accredited and IOSH Approved training course is designed to introduce staff and management at all levels to the issues of environmental responsibility as well as look at how individually and collectively we can minimise our impact from our day to day activities.  Our programme educates our team on what the environment is, what’s happening to it and how we can make a positive difference

We do not pretend to have all the answers, but together we are working hard to improve our global impact.
